It’s true… I’m moving! I’ve packed up my posts, photos and links and I’m moving them over to WordPress.org. And much like moving in real life, moving your blog is kind of a pain. My (brain) muscle hurts, all of my junk is boxed up and I have no idea where to find anything. There may even be things that get lost or broken in transit.
Why the move? For those that blog, WordPress.org gives a lot more freedom and creativity. From big things like customizing code to little things like being able to add instagram photos to your blog… there are a lot more options. Right now it’s safe to assume I’m interested in the little things, but I like the opportunity to grow and learn about the bigger things.
So what does this mean to you? Hopefully, not much. However, since I really don’t know what I’m doing and feel like I’ve constructed a house of cards that may collapse at any given moment… I thought you should know. If for some reason I drop off your feed and you’re interested in still following along with all of our shenanigans, you can still find us at http://www.storypiece.net
And just like in real life where I’ve invited friends over for pizza and to see our new digs, I’m inviting you to check out the new blog. I can’t guarantee that I’ll have plates for the pizza or that there will be pictures on the walls, but I can promise that it will be… a work in progress.
Okay… have I sufficiently crushed this moving metaphor? No? Good. Since I don’t have an actual moving day photo, I thought I’d leave you with this image from our recent kitchen project. Yes… we started painting before cleaning up our holiday decorations.
Life was a wee bit insane and proof that things can get seriously out of control around here.
Have you made the move from WordPress.com to WordPress.org? Any tips for those of us in transition? Ever feel like chaos is the new normal?
